NTID Names Interpreting Team Leader

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 19—The National Technical Institute for the Deaf, a college of Rochester Institute of Technology, has named Kathleen Darroch manager of the Liberal Arts Interpreting Team in the Department of Access Services. She will manage a team of 29 interpreters who provide interpreting services in the College of Liberal Arts as well as services for faculty and staff in non-academic areas of RIT.

Darroch, of Penfield, has been a member of NTID's interpreting staff since 1986. Most recently, she was acting manager of the Liberal Arts team.

Darroch has a master's degree in American History from the State University of New York at Brockport, a bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music, and an A.A.S. in Educational Interpreting from RIT.

NTID is the first and largest technological college in the world for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. NTID, one of eight colleges of RIT, offers educational programs and access and support services to its 1,100 students from around the world who study, live, and socialize with 14,400 hearing students on RIT's Rochester, N.Y., campus.
