Gallaudet University to Host Congressional
Flag Football Game on Wed. Nov. 16
All Funds Raised Will Go toward Capitol Police Memorial Fund

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressmen Rick Renzi (AZ-1), Tim Ryan (OH-17), Bill Shuster (PA-9) and Kendrick Meek (FL-17) announced that the 1st Annual “Longest Yard” Football game between members of Congress and the United States Capitol Police will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Gallaudet University at approximately 8 p.m. The game will be played for charity with all funds raised going towards the Capitol Police Memorial Fund to help the families of slain Capitol Police Officers. Currently more than 30 members of Congress will be participating and will be coached by former Nebraska Head Coach (now Rep.) Tom Osborne.

“This game is a way for us to say thank you to the police and the families who have made sacrifices to keep us safe,” said Congressman Renzi.
