Camp Lakodia Announces Two Upcoming Programs

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Nov. 18, 2005) — Camp Lakodia, LLC, in keeping with its mission of serving deaf and hard of hearing people, is hosting two programs in early 2006. The two unique events are a Scrapbooking Camp and a Singles Camp. Camp Lakodia, a subsidiary of CSD, is located on Lake Herman in Madison, S.D.

Scrapbooking — the art of collecting pictures and organizing them creatively in scrapbooks — is gaining in popularity across the nation. Deaf and signing women (and men) have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field at scrapbooking camp, all while working alongside fellow scrapbookers and learning various tips and techniques. The dates are Feb. 17-20, 2006 and costs are $70 per person for meals and program. Lodging is additional.

Camp Lakodia is also hosting a Singles Camp. St. Patrick’s weekend is a good time to meet new people, and possibly your future significant other. Various activities and events designed to help men and women relate to each other are scheduled. Experience Camp Lakodia in its late-winter beauty during March 16-19, 2006. Costs are $70 for meals and program, plus additional for lodging.

“We have a unique facility where first-class lodgings are offered in a quiet, peaceful, and scenic location,” said Deb Skjeveland, program manager. “While the camp’s mission focuses on deaf and hard of hearing programs, we are a year round resort that offers a one of a kind experience for people in all walks of life.”

For more information on either of the above events, or to register, please e-mail Deb Skjeveland at dskjeveland@camplakodia.org or give her a video call at dskjeveland.csd.tv.
