Our latest workshop:
Prognosis Excellent: Medical Interpreting at Your Best!
.6 CEUs (6 hours)

As an interpreter, you are well trained and prepared for the task. Your duties are clear in a generic sense. However, as you step into other professionals' arenas and the duties are compounded by the context of each setting, it is helpful to know the expectations for our work of and by these professionals. This understanding will enable us to be more effective and for our work to seamlessly coexist within the context of the setting to the greatest extent possible. This workshop will explore the duties of an interpreter in medical settings from the perspective of a medical professional who is also an interpreter. This WWWorkshop will benefit interpreters in various settings including CDIs, community interpreters, educational interpreters who find themselves needing to interpret in health situations or classes focusing on medical issues. Some of the information essential to interpreting in medical settings this workshop will address includes:

· Anatomy of an Assignment
· Introduction To Basic Medical Terminology
· Common Laboratory & Radiographic Examinations
· Navigating a Perioperative Assignment

Dreams are never destroyed by circumstances.
Dreams are born in the heart and mind,
and only there can die.
Because while the difficult takes time,
the impossible just takes a little longer.
