Los Angeles: “The Kitchenâ€, the language services division of the industry’s only Emmy Award Winning language localization software technology, developed by TM SYSTEMS, has offered closed captioning technology and services for nearly five years. As FCC regulations pertaining to the use of Closed Captions calls for a January 1, 2006 mandate, requiring 100% of all programming distributor’s new, nonexempt video programming to be provided with captions, the language services department of “The Kitchen†has been extremely busy with “last minute†requests for captioning of program product.
Video programming included in the FCC mandate does include advertisements of more than five minutes of duration; video programming for residential reception; any broadcast station licensed by the Commission; any multi channel video programming distributor; any entity contracting for program distribution over a video programming distributor; any video program distributor and any other entity that provides video programming intended for distribution to residential households.
“The Kitchen†offers full language services to and from any language, although Closed Captioning regulations only do pertain to English and Spanish programming at this time.
