Deaf TV Program...Looking for TV Guests..."Hear As We Hear"

Hello friends:

My name is Dawn K. Burch and I am a television producer here in Los Angeles, California. I am a member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ and an active member of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministry. We are in the process of producing a television show entitled "Hear As We Hear." “Hear As We Hear” is a thirty-minute program that will air locally here in Los Angeles in the summer of 2006. We are currently in preproduction for our first several episodes.

One very important topic that we will be covering on our program will be a two part series entitled: “Sign Language & Gangs, the Misinterpretation of Communication.” In this program, we will focus on how gangs have been attacking the deaf for their usage of sign language because they are misinterpreting their signs to be gang signs.

We are currently looking to talk to people who have been a victim of such gang violence and/or people who know of someone who have been a victim of such a crime. Please email me if you or someone you know is willing to talk to me about this topic. We would like to hear from as many of you as possible no later than Friday, June 16, 2006.
