June 6, 2006 -- A deaf homeless man is being held on murder and robbery charges in connection with the bludgeoning of a man in Queens over the weekend, police said yesterday.
William Washington, 47, who had been living in a makeshift shelter in Long Island City, is accused of repeatedly bashing the unidentified victim over the head with a brick at 43rd Road and 12th Street, not far from his lean-to.
If convicted, Washington could be jailed for 25 years to life.
