Help us to gather views on subtitled cinema and earn £40!

If you are deaf or hard of hearing, live or work in the Manchester area,
and are available on the afternoon of the Saturday 30th September, we would
LOVE to hear your views on subtitled cinema and pay you £40 for your
trouble.

Children & adults welcome. Discussions are BSL interpreted, and the
discussion area will be fitted with an induction loop.

So, please help us to gather views on subtitled cinema and earn £40!

Places are limited, so please email us, say if you are available, leave a
name and email address or phone number, and we will get back to you asap.

We want to make sure that as many people as possible are included in the

More details:

The UK Film Council kickstarted subtitled cinema in the UK by deciding to
fund 50% of the cost (cinemas funded the rest). They are now undertaking a
major study to determine the level of awareness of subtitled cinema, and to
gather views on what improvements could be made, choice of films, choice of
dates and times, loop systems, signing, how often people attend subtitled
shows, etc.

This research will help to shape the future of subtitled cinema in the UK.

The research will consist of a series of focus groups for deaf and hard of
hearing people, followed by a survey. If you would like to take part in a
subtitled cinema discussion group, please contact us as soon as you can, as
places are limited.

Children and adults are welcome, and participants will be paid £40.
Discussions are BSL interpreted, and the discussion area will be fitted

There will be separate groups for deaf and hard of hearing adults, and
children. They will all take place in Manchester on the afternoon of
Saturday 30th September 2006.
