Film fest announces winners

(March 26, 2007) — The following winners were announced Sunday for this weekend's juried student films at the second Deaf Rochester Film Festival.
Deaf Rochester Film Festival Juried Award, Short Student Film. First place: Bridget Klein, for The Unnoticed Life. Second place: Ruthie Jordan, for Dottie's Ride. Third place: Alice Lo, for Chalkboard. Honorable mention: Joseph Josselyn and Eric Calbert, for Fast Food.
SoFA (Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Film and Animation) Filmmaker's Film, Short Film Award. Mike Nesmith and Paul Filiatreault, for ... And I Die Soon.
Juried Gallaudet Protest Films Award. First place: Roxanne Dummett and Andrew Jones, for Unity for Who? Second place: Samuel-Scott Reekers, for Artistry of the 2006 Protest.
SoFA Filmmaker's Film, Gallaudet Protest Film Award. Melissa Malzkuhn, for Tara's Story.
Klein, Jordan, Lo and Reekers are RIT students or graduates. The others are Gallaudet University students or graduates.
