PCB rewards deaf cricketers for winning Asia Cup

LAHORE, April 20 (APP)- Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Dr Nasim Ashraf has said that PCB will extend financial support to deaf cricket association to start domestic matches. He was speaking at a reception which PCB hosted in the honour of victorious deaf team for winning the first Asia Cup for Deaf in India this month.

“PCB will give 100 per cent support to the deaf cricket as they really done a great job for Pakistan by winning the Asia Cup,” he said adding “ it is a big achievement on part of deaf team which put up a splendid show in the first edition of the Cup “.

“We will be providing all out cooperation and facilities so that they could do further better in coming events “,he continued.

He assured the deaf cricket association that their other genuine demands would also be met.

PCB Chief gave away Rs 50,000 to each member of the Deaf cricket team for winning the Cup.

The chairman said the PCB was the sole authority of the game and it was supporting blind and women cricketers.

“Like deaf and blind the Pakistan senior team and women would also earn success at the world level to make the nation proud”,he hoped.
