Please join DEAF Media and ITVS Community Cinema at the Oakland Museum for:
"Lioness"
[captioned] Film and ASL Interpreted Panel discussion.
"They went to Iraq as cooks, clerks and mechanics and returned a year later as part of America's first generation of female combat veterans. In LIONESS, Directors Meg McLagan and Daria Sommers give an intimate look at war through the eyes of women and the U.S. military policy that bans them from combat."

The ITVS 08 09 season began a collaboration with DEAF Media to provide Deaf access for this Emmy Award winning series at the Oakland Museum of California. (Season schedule below).
The ITVS Community Cinema Series features sneak previews of films scheduled for upcoming broadcast on the Emmy Award-winning PBS series "Independent Lens." The Community Cinema series is presented by Oakland Museum of California and ITVS in partnership with the Oakland Film Office, KQED Education Network, DEAF Media, and Hands On Bay Area.
The ITVS Series films will be shown captioned. Following the film, panel discussions will be ASL interpreted by DEAF Media.
